Image: ASC Instructor Sandra SchultzSandra K. Schultz will begin her 31st year of teaching this fall. She taught science in grades 7-12 in Iowa for 12 years. Her family then moved to farm in Delta Junction and she has taught for the Delta/Greely School District since 1990. She has been the Gifted and Talented Program teacher, the secondary science teacher, a generalist for grades 6-10, and now a special education teacher. She received her Masters of Education and became an Alaska Science Consortium Fellow in 1996. She attended the Alaska Science Consortium Arctic Ecology Advanced Institute in Barrow in 2004. During the 2005 Alaska Science Consortium Summer Institute and the 2005 Fall Follow-Up Course, she was the secondary intern. She is an Executive Council member for the Alaska Science Consortium. She was selected to be on the State of Alaska committee to write the GLE's, the Alaska science test, the descriptors for the science test items, and the cut scores for the science test. She piloted the Alaska eighth grade science test in 2006. This past year she was elected as a trustee for the NEA-Alaska Health Plan. This is her third year teaching for the STEP program representing the Alaska Science Consortium.
